I realize that I may have confused some of you by now with references to various projects and companies that I am involved in, so here's a quick summary:
***I'm involved in three production companies, each with various projects:
1. Chrysalis Productions, Inc (www.chrysalisproductions.com):
This is a non-profit company which I founded in 2003. My plans originally were to go after grants to help fund my projects, thus the need for non-profit status. So far I have managed to self-fund, and am now giving out grants myself to fellow filmmakers.
Projects under Chrysalis include my first doc, What's So Funny? (currently for sale via the website...sorry, but have to get plugs in where I can) and my third doc, The BlueBelles, which is just beginning production. Both are feature length and human interest/inspirational in nature.
2. Jona Musa Productions, LLC (www.jonamusaproductions.com)
This is the LLC I formed with partner Liz Finn Arnold in 2004. Our current focus revolves around the TV show we have created, Breeding Ground, a half-hour comedy about the reality of motherhood (think Sex and the City all grown up and relocated to Philly with kids).
Liz and I are also collaborating on a yet to be titled screenplay as well as ideas for other television shows.
3. Like-Minded Entertainment, LLC (www.likemindedent.com):
This is my latest venture, a partnership with filmmaking comrades Anna-Maria Vag and Debra Higgins. Vag & Debbie, as they shall be known going forward, are my producing partners on my second doc, Snake Hill. We are currently entering post-production for this project and are very excited about its potential.
Like-Minded, or LME as we affectionately call it these days, is actually the parent company for several production divisions as follows:
Legacy Mountain Films: our joint production company (for Snake Hill)
Sterling Tusk Films: for my personal projects (The Grotto)
Crescent City Films: for Debbie's personal projects (Angels of the Asylums & screenplay, The List)
Moxie River Films: for Vag's personal projects (Just Getting By and screenplay, The Table)
Triad Screening Series: our new film screening series which will launch in spring 2006 in Red Bank, NJ
Sorry if this is still confusing, but I just wanted everyone reading to have a feel for what/who I'm referring to as we go forward. For now, I think this structure will serve me well for the next several years...but you never know who else will show up and want to form a partnership! (Mel? Julia? Oprah?)
