For some unknown reason, this is my favorite Beatles song..."I'm Looking Through You" was a Lennon/McCartney composition which first appeared on the Rubber Soul album in 1965. The song was reportedly written mainly by Paul McCartney and directed at English actress Jane Asher, his girlfriend at the time.
This version is the one that was released, but it's actually the 4th version of the song (the others were slower).
Other well known Beatles songs also said to be inspired by Ms. Asher were "All My Loving", "And I Love Her" and "We Can Work It Out". To this day, she has never talked about their five year relationship & engagement...perhaps John Mayer could take a few lessons from her :)
