Day 141: "If There Was No You"

This song is going out to everyone in my life who helped me get through a very rough week (health-wise)--THANK YOU!  You know who you are.

"If There Was No You" is one of my favorite Brandi Carlile songs and it conveys exactly what I need to say...

Day 140: "Feeling Good"

Trying to go with positive thinking here....since I've been feeling awful for more than a week now, I'm hoping that just putting this out there going is help me turn the corner. I figure it can't hurt, and it's a great song regardless! Here's "Feeling Good" performed live by Michael Buble.

Day 139: "One Original Thing"

Here's something from an up and coming young artist named Cheyenne Kimball that caught my attention a couple of years ago. "One Original Thing" was from her first album, The Day Has Come. I particularly like the lyrics --

Day 138: "I Just Called to Say I Love You"

I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday who met with a medium for the first time ever over the weekend. She was hoping to receive a message from her father, who passed away suddenly when she was only nine years old. She was actually blown away (in a positive way) by all of the information she received. The psychic also told her that the song her dad wants her to think of as "their" song is Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called to Say I Love You.", so thought I'd send it out to her today.

Day 137: "Morning"

Wow...can't believe I missed a day yesterday. I was probably the sickest I've been in years. So, this one is posted a bit late..I'm going with something relaxing as I've been dealing with some anxiety attacks and this helps.

"Morning" composed by Edvard Grieg (performed here by Classical Dream) is one of my favorite classical pieces. Hope it puts you in a relaxed mood as well.

Day 136: "Bye Bye"

Feeling in the mood for a country song today..."Jo Dee Messina's classic, "Bye Bye", is calling my name.

Day 135: "No Regrets"

In case you've been living under a rock for the past week, I just have to share Britain's Got Talent's latest singing sensation -- 81-year old Janey Cutler, singing Edith Piaf's amazing  "No Regrets", (aka "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien"). I personally get chills every time I hear this song...whether in French or English.

Janey is from Scotland (one of my favorite spots!) and has seven children, 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren...they must be very proud.

She even got 3,003 Yes's from Judge Simon Cowell...wow!

Susan Boyle is so 2009 :)

Day 134: "Maybe"

I would be remiss if I didn't recognize the passing of the wonderful Lena Horne this week. Here's Lena performing "Maybe" during her 1994 NYC special,  "An Evening with Lena Horne."

Day 133: "I Don't Want to Live"

This popped up while I was looking at some other songs and caught my eye as I've never heard of either the singer, Bobbi Martin , or the song, "I Don't Want to Live". I really thought I knew pretty much every 60's artist and song--obviously not :)
